Established in 1949, ASD Rugby Monza is one of the oldest Italian rugby clubs and is the point of reference the entire Brianza region which counts almost 1 million inhabitants. The club has more than 300 athletes and is a leading force in junior rugby with its U14 and U16 teams regularly at the top of regional standings. The women team plays in the Italian Serie A while the male senior squad is a contender in the fourth division north-western Elite pool. The main club concern is rugby development in the region through their teams and rugby lessons in schools, a project which already involves 200 students every year. For this reason the Monza local administration has assigned to the club the management of the Pioltelli sporting ground which will be entirely dedicated to rugby practice by the end of the year. The new club logo includes the distinguishing franchise colours white, red and black and the city of Monza emblems that is the Longobard Agilulfo's Cross and the Iron Crown.
